Who this work is for
This work may be for you if you are autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, PDA, late-identified, self-identified, questioning, or simply beginning to wonder whether the usual ways of explaining yourself no longer fit.
You might be navigating burnout, masking, emotional intensity, creative blocks, identity shifts, life transitions, sensitivity, demand avoidance, shame, fear, people-pleasing, or the slow process of learning what actually supports you. You don’t need to arrive with the right words, a formal diagnosis, or a polished story. We begin and work with what is happening right now for you.
PDA, best understood as a persistent drive for autonomy, can bring a particular kind of sensitivity to external and internal pressures, expectations, and obligations, and make them feel like a loss of choice. As a PDAer who has experienced this all his life, I now understand this as a nervous-system response. It is a natural thing to want autonomy and PDAers feel that powerfully. That deserves respect, curiosity and support when it leads to misunderstanding. Together, we can explore what helps you feel safer, less cornered, and more able to move toward what matters without overriding yourself.
What we might explore together
- Late-identified autism, ADHD, AuDHD or PDA-profile experiences
- Masking, burnout, shutdown, overwhelm and recovery
- Demand avoidance, autonomy, pressure and nervous-system safety
- Belonging, identity, self-acceptance and grief
- Emotional intensity, sensitivity and self-trust
- Creative blocks, purpose, expression and meaning
- People-pleasing, boundaries and the cost of fitting in
- Life transitions, change, uncertainty and decision-making
- Building rhythms, practices and supports that respect your wiring
I don’t work from the ableist assumption that you need fixing. Instead, I understanding that many neurodivergent people have had to survive in environments that didn’t recognise their needs, rhythms, sensitivities, autonomy, intelligence or ways of making meaning. We’ll work to understand what’s helped you survive, what may now be costing you too much, and what new possibilities are beginning to emerge.
